The 4th National Heritage Awards suspended indefinitely

Every 2 years since 2013, CCFU awards individuals, families, and organizations for their outstanding contribution to preserving and promoting Uganda’s heritage. This is built, tangible and intangible heritage. Awards are towards efforts to preserve a historical site, an endangered language or custom, an effort to preserve a threatened part of our knowledge or skills or traditions.

Nominations are vetted by a jury and winners are awarded in a grand ceremony.

This year’s awarding ceremony was scheduled to take place on 20th May 2020 at the National Theatre in Kampala.

However, due to the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic, and with respect to the government ban on gatherings, the Foundation has indefinitely suspended the awarding ceremony until normalcy is restored in the world.

A new date for nominations and awarding ceremony will be announced.
